Adding a personal touch to my 2010 Symba
I had a hard time with the bright white plastic side covers on the Symba. I know older Honda Cubs, Super Cubs and Passports varied between white and body color-matched side covers. I prefer color-matched so it doesn't draw the eye away from the front cowling. So, I sanded them down and painted them using four coats of Rustoleum Gloss Black (spray paint) for plastic, over three coats of Rustoleum gray primer for plastic. I finished the job with four coats of Rustoleum clear gloss for plastic, followed by a polishing with liquid car wax. All the paint was purchased at a local auto store. The front cowling is striped with boat striping from a local marine supply store. I added assorted decals to complete a "retro" look. The windshield is from Prima and the topcase, from Givi. I had my dealer add the bench seat and extended luggage rack from Sym. This scoot is agile and fairly quick - love the four speed tranny! I topped 55 last weekend ! Have yet to ride two-up, although Sym warns against it. Hmmm...I've looked at a lot of old Honda Cub ads.....
